Meet Guilaine Bayubasire, one of our newest and most inspiring entrepreneurs at Flexi Konnect this year. Driven by passion, purpose, and resilience, Guilaine is the Founder of WOSWIFT Women Foundation, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering refugee women in Uganda through creativity, skill-building, and entrepreneurship. Through WOSWIFT, Guilaine provides women with hands-on training in crocheting and handmade crafts, helping them turn their creativity into sustainable income while restoring confidence, dignity, and hope. Her initiative not only equips women with practical business skills but also builds a supportive community where they can share stories, learn from one another, and grow together. Flexi Konnect Rebrands as Flexi Link Initiative to Strengthen Support for Refugee and Host Entrepreneurs Kampala, Uganda – Flexi Konnect, a social enterprise dedicated to unlocking opportunities for underrepresented entrepreneurs, is proud to announce its official rebrand to Flexi Link Initiative following registration. This change marks a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to create an inclusive digital and physical ecosystem that empowers refugee and host community entrepreneurs across Uganda.

The new name, Flexi Link Initiative, emphasizes the organization’s core role as a bridge connecting early-stage entrepreneurs to critical resources including investors, mentorship, finance, markets, and professional networks. The term “Flexi” reflects the initiative’s flexible and innovative approach to ecosystem building.

Digital Finance for Refugees Workshop Success

We’re excited to share the success of our Digital Finance for Refugees Workshop! In partnership with Numida, Uganda’s leading provider of digital business loans, Flexi Konnect is now working as a sales agent to connect refugee-led businesses with life-changing financing opportunities. So far, we have trained 23 dedicated ambassadors to identify, support, and refer entrepreneurs for funding, while our co-working hubs provide internet access, digital tools, mentorship, and consultations that build strong, credible business profiles attractive to larger investors. By December 2025, our goal is to connect 200 businesses to digital financing and create at least 40 new jobs across refugee and host communities. Guided by our vision “to create an inclusive, world-class digital and physical ecosystem that unlocks investment and growth opportunities for young and underrepresented entrepreneurs,” we are committed to transforming potential into thriving, impactful businesses.
